Permatex Form A Gasket No 2 Sealant

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Permatex Form A Gasket No 2 Sealant is a black, viscous

paste with a characteristic alcoholic odor. It is a slow dryi

ng, flexible setting paste that changes to a pliable, non-ha

rdening film through solvent evaporation. It seals flanges,

fittings, connections and flexible assemblies against leaka

ge, It increases the reliability of gasket seals. Conforms to 

MIL-S-45180D,Type II.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

   1.Remove all previous material from mating surfaces.

      Permatex Gasket Remover is recommended for mos  ls, 

      not for plastics or painted surfaces.

   2.For best results, clean and dry all surfaces with a resid

      ue-free solvent, such as Permatex Brake and Parts Cleaner.

   3.Remove cap, puncture tube or cartridge seal and attach

      extension nozzle (if provided).

   4.When used as a gasket dressing, spread product with a

      spatula to a uniform film on one side of gasket and then

      position it on the assembly, Coat the second side of gas

      ket and re-assemble, Slower drying formula increases 

      work time.

   5.Assembly is operational after 4 hours, full cure is affected

      after 24 hours.

For Cleanup

1. The product can be removed from metal surfaces with

   isopropyl alcohol. If the sealant has been dried for a long

   time or at high temperatures, cover the sealant with alcohol

   and allow to soften overnight.

2. Clean hands with Permatex brand hand cleaners.

TYPICAL CURING PERFORMANCE:

Permatex Form A Gasket No 2 Sealant once applied, 

develops a semi-flexible seal by solvent evaporation. 

Dry times will vary with temperature ,humidity and gap.

The product retains effective properties in contact with water,

GENERAL INFORMATION

This product is not recommended for use in pure oxygen

and/ or oxygen rich systems and should not be selected as 

a sealant for chlorine or other strong oxidizing materials.

Material Safe Data Sheet,(MSDS).

STORAGE

Products shall be ideally stored in a cool, dry location in 

unopened containers at a temperature between 8 to 28℃

（46 to 82℉）unless otherwise labeled. Optimal storage is at

the lower half of this temperature range, To prevent 

contamination of unused product, do not return an material to

its original container.
